To propagate the thoughts and teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the D.A.V. Movement was founded in 1886 at Lahore for bringing about national reconstruction and eradication of Social evils. The movement inspired eminent scholars, distinguished educationists and Public men of eminence from various walks of life to launch a crusade for quality education. The D.A.V. College Managing Committee chalked out an ambitious plan of opening a network of public schools with a view to bringing about harmonious and balanced development of personality in the fabric of which academics and moral education are interwoven.
The D.A.V. Movement has assumed new dimensions, unprecedented and unparalleled in the annals of Quality Education, under the dynamic leadership of Shri G.P. chopraji, President,D.A.V.College Managing Committee. He has played a stellar role in taking Arya Samaj to glorious heights and in making D.A.V. Public School Movement a grand success. The BNS DAV institutions are the gifts of arya Samaj, a progressive movement founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1875, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, great path maker of modern India, led a crusade against the superstitious and pernicious practices that prevailed in contemporary India.
With a review to bring about a balanced and harmonious development of the future citizens of this country and to infuse in them, the ideals of Vedic and high sense of patriotism, Arya Samaj founded a school at Lahore in 1886 by the name of DAYANAND ANGLOVEDIC SCHOOL.This established the BNS D.A.V. College Trust & Management Society, which later set up a network of such educational institutions all over India.
